The presence of gangs has increased in the U.S.; they affect almost 3,550 jurisdictions as of 2007. As Crenshaw is painstaking to point out, both issues—issues of race and gender, that is—receive quite a bit of popular attention in our current culture climate.   In fact, the issues have been made so big that they are difficult to contain in any one argument. Nowadays, so many things become either an issue of race or an issue of gender, it is difficult to discern which issues legitimately need to be addressed by these â€Å"isms† and which have simply been lumped into them by sheer popular appeal (i.e., race and gender issues are the new hot-button â€Å"It† topic—if any discussion is going to occur on the large-scale mainstream popular platform of the media, one of the two had better be involved).   However, through all of this seeming social desire to focus so much on gender and race, the fact that the two can also intersect and create a whole new array of complicated issues for a person and a culture seems to have been totally missed. That last little bit is my own digression, and not part of Crenshaw’s argument; this is simply what struck me as so entirely shocking.   While we’ve been so caught up discussing race and gender, we’ve completely missed the discussion of race with gender.   Crenshaw has a plethora of information and examples to cite which show how race with gender has been entirely neglected by everyone, including the antiracists (who predominantly serve black men) and the feminists (who predominantly serve white women). Here, Crenshaw further contains the overall argument into speaking strictly in terms of violence against women, and how violence against women of color is treated and viewed as being the same as violence against women in general, completely ignoring the deeper-lying complications of layers of different of social structures which affect women of color that DO NOT affect white women (something that, if women of color are to be treated in a way that is beneficial and acknowledging of them and their plights, simply cannot be ignored). Again, Crenshaw brings so much â€Å"evidence† to the table that her point rings loud and clear: the separate and distinct plights of women of color are not recognized by any other vocal group as being anything noteworthy.   And this attitude further perpetuates this belief of their own negligible experiences in the minds of those very same women of color.   And so is the vicious cycle. I found Crenshaw’s essay to be extremely culturally important and incredibly relevant.   For as much as antiracist and feminist groups preach about â€Å"Otherness,† they too are guilty of â€Å"Othering† in order to further their own causes (or, worse than â€Å"Othering,† just flat-out ignoring). Any effective kind of identity politic must be informed by all aspects of a person’s identity; not just race, and not just gender (or, for that matter, class, religion, sexual orientation, age, profession, education, employment history, disability, proclivity to heart disease, or anything else), but a combination of all the various intricacies that creates a person’s identity.   To separate one out makes a person no less of the other, and the only way to truly address them is to do so in a way that accommodates how they all come together to form their own separate and unique experience.   Perhaps this is where the postmodernists really got it right: identity is fluid, after all. The main drawback of audiovisual training methods is that they cannot be customized for a particular audience, and they do not allow participants to ask questions or interact during the presentation of material. Apprenticeship and internships: Apprenticeships are a form of on-the-Job training in which the trainee works with a more experienced employee for a period of time, learning a group of related skills that will eventually qualify the trainee to perform a new Job or function. Steps of training and development methods used by BAL: BAL uses several steps in their training and development method. They are described below: Step 1: In first step they identity which of the employees needs training. And for that they arrange some interview session once in three months. As their organization is a production based organization so their employees needs to be patented. And for that they take interviews of their employees and get the idea about them. Steps: After taking the interview they decide which of the employees needs more training and who dont. There is a standard on which the interviewers give marks to the employees. And on the basis of that marks the employees are given training. Steps: After selecting the people for training BAL arranges some training sessions lead by their internal trainers. But in special cases they also get trainers face interview again. After getting the interview of those employees the interviewers sides whether they need further training for that session or not. If an employee fails several times in interview he/she may lose their Job. In the above mentioned steps the Beach Hatchery LTD runs their training their training and development methods. These are not the fixed steps they are improving it when it is needed. 5. Types of training and development methods gives by BAL: Beach Hatchery LTD basically uses four types of training and development methods. They selected these methods according to their organizations needs. The methods used by the BAL are described below: l. Class room training from senior staff: These types of trainings are basically given to root level people and the officers. For root level workers the training held in their Teenage factory and it is given by the senior staffs. But for the officers the training is held in their Dacha office and it is held by the senior staffs of the department. II. Seminars: Seminars are mainly used when a new thing is introduced in the organization. For root level workers they dont get this kind of training. In this case the trainers attain the seminars and get trained and after that they train the root level workers. But in case of officers the organization arranges seminars and they get training directly from there. These seminars are mainly instructed by external trainers. Ill. Informal Learning: In BAL informal learning is also present. If employees things that they need to learn something from their seniors then they can learn it from them. And the organization also allows them to do so. 6. Evaluation of training and development methods: In BAL they have their own way to evaluate their training and development method. Firstly they take department wise interviews to check the levels of the employees. They also have something called performance card. Each department heads give their feedback about their subordinate in the performance card in every three months. After getting those feedback organization decided whether they need to improve their training methods or not. If they need further improvement then they improve that. Analysis of the questionnaire: After analyzing the questionnaire we found out that the data provided by the C. E. O of BAL is 85% valid. Because as we know that they dont have a separate HER department, so there are some lickings in their training and development programs. The C. E. O gave us the information about training and development of BAL but from his answer we think that he didnt gave 100% valid information to us. But most of the data s given by him was helpful and valid. From the data we can say that inspire of not having a separate HER department; they are doing well with their training and development. Chapter: 5 From our point of view we think that as the BAL is a public limited company and they re also large in size, so they should have a separate HER department. They should also improve their training and development methods. Otherwise it will be very hard for them to survive in the long run. Furthermore, BAL can achieve forward and backward integration than BAL can have synergies effect. BAL can achieve backward integration by procuring trawler which can be used to capture mother shrimp from sea. BAL should set up solar panel to take care of load shading. For forward integration BAL can establish shrimp culture firm to reduce dependency on market. BAL should also have some lobbing with government to ban the use of fry from trial sources as it destroys larva of other fish in the process. It will create huge demand for BAL. Many people complain that censorship is the violation of the first amendment and the suppression of freedom of speech but there is a point where freedom of speech becomes corrupt; freedom of speech only creates an excuse for the vile pornographers to poison our nation let alone our children. Pornography is regarded as immoral and downright filthy by the people. It denies human dignity and often stimulates the user to violent acts (Beahm 295). Therefore, pornography and violence are correlated. It trivializes the human beauty and converts it into commercialized slime (Beahm 295). Moreover, the consumption of pornography can lead to a detrimental addiction and the consumer can become a slave to it (Beahm 297). In short, pornography is a very addictive drug; which has an equal or more potency to hard-core drugs like heroin and cocaine. The damage is long-term and when the time comes, we will have a nation of perverts. These are our children and we have the right to protect them. The fact that pornography is damaging mentally is further aggravated as the availability of pornography to all Internet users is a major problem as well. The ridiculously easy accessibility to all types pornography; by anyone who logs into the Internet has raised a major concern from both the government and the public. The Internet, being the biggest interactive library ever existed, has no owner, President, chief operating officer or pope (Montoya). President George Bush’s decision to attack Iraq was based on unfounded beliefs in the presence of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). The Saddam Hussein administration granted the UN and the Americans permission to inspect their weapons artillery to ascertain if they were indeed developing weapons of WMD and even though nothing was found, Bush and his administration believed Iraq did not reveal everything and that formed the basis of American’s invasion of Iraq and the subsequent execution of Saddam Hussein. George Bush’s decision to convince congress to allow America attack Iraq was based on fear that terrorists were likely to attack America again and not necessarily because of WMD that were never found after they subdu ed Iraq. Another factor that led to American invasion of Iraq was interest in the Middle East oil resulting from the fear of uncertainty in the future of American energy security. For this, he saw Saddam Hussein as a major impediment to the benefit they would receive from Middle East oil. They had prevailed upon the United Nations to put economic sanctions on Iraq with the food-for-oil arrangement but this did not deter Iraq, so he believed the best way to achieve their objective was by deposing Saddam Hussein from power. It was therefore an embarrassment to the bush administration when the WMD were never found and nothing could justify the military expenditure on the war (McClellan & McClellan, 2008). President Bush’s fear just before and after the invasion of Iraq began showed up immediately. The United Nations, led by Kofi Annan, opposed the war and proposed a peaceful way of resolving the American suspicion but the administration disobeyed because their fears. It is this very fear that led to interference in the war by civilian commanders based in Washington, which left soldiers on the ground very indisposed. There was also the misconception by the administration that Iraqi soldiers could provide reinforcement and military support. Some Iraqi soldiers did not support the war and posed a great risk to Americans as they ganged up with insurgents to cause trouble to the American troops. In fact, many American soldiers died and had injuries more than the administration had anticipated. As a result of fear, the Bush administration overlooked the process of reconstruction; they did not foresee the magnitude of destruction that resulted from this war. The destruction was so vast that it needed the participation of European bloc, the UN and other international bodies to help in the reconstruction exercise. Although the three segments were interested in participating in the reconstruction, American stubbornness in its interest to lead the reconstruction exer cise after causing destruction made them develop cold feet and some eventually withdrawn. President Bush then made it appear like no country or organization was willing to participate in the restoration exercise. Toward the end of the Bush administration, there was panic both in Washington and Baghdad when it became apparent that there was a political and military vacuum in Iraq. The Iraqi government apparatus collapsed and the institutions that provided basic services like water and electricity could no longer coordinate because staff could not come to work. The Bush administration in its panic started doing things in haste to fill in the vacuum.
